A real estate investment trust, Regency Centers owns, operates, and develops grocery-anchored retail centers. They sought a partnership that would enable them to attract more customers and reach high-value audiences, while also highlighting their commitment to the environment— and found such a partnership with Volta.
Our partnership with Volta has provided many benefits. EV charging stations are an essential amenity that many customers expect from a first-class shopping center, attracting new customers that spend 89 minutes at the property.
Our partnership with Volta has also provided us a new line item in our ancillary income program. As EV adoption rates continue to increase, we look forward to adding more stations to our portfolio.

Since partnering with Volta in 2012, Regency Centers has been able to enhance their customer experience with the implementation of 94 Volta charging stations at 38 of their locations, which are occupied over 8 hours per day on average. As a result, they’ve been able to provide 675,000 free charging sessions a year, with an average of 89 minutes per session. All of this measures up to 12,000,000+ electric miles and 5,000,000+ pounds of carbon dioxide saved!
